The day before Thanksgiving we went ice skating, it looks so easy on T.V, but it's really kinda scary. There were lots of little kids skating and I was so scared of falling on them.
I made the boys do a routine with me, you would be surprised they are pretty good at doing all the moves. Scott could totally be an ice skater, he was doing these cool turn things, and we worked it out so I could go under his legs, cool hu? But when it comes to organizing a routine, they tried but weren't very good at remembering anything.
I loved how the rink had lights everywhere and looked just like one out of a book.
Beth's B-day was the day after Thanksgiving, we had a little twilight party after a day of shopping. We turned on some Christmas music and had a dance party...well more like I danced and my dad mimicked me. However, the man has got some moves.
It was pretty bare on snow, the boys went to Brighton on tuesday, they didn't seem too impressed with the snow but seemed to have had a good time. I was surprised how many people were skiing on the hill behind our hotel. Crazy.
While the boys were gone the girls hit up TaiPan and Taiwan for Christmas decorations, I did some serious damage.
The hotel had activities going on all throughout the day and we noticed on one of the itineraries that Friday would be a rock band tournament. Clint, Scott and I are pretty awesome at rock band so we were pretty pumped. Usually when we play, Scott plays drums, and Clint and I rotate the guitar and mic. But when it came to Friday I was really embarrassed to be singing in front of strangers, so I really wanted to play guitar for the tournament. However, Clint is a much better guitarist than me, so for the sake of the tournament they were forcing me to sing, so they could win.... dumb boys.
So we had argued about it all day, Clint finally agreed to sing and we headed downstairs. We walked into the room to meet our challengers. The lady in charge pointed us to the back of the line, made up of two dozen 5-7 years old, waiting for their turn to compete. The singer, or the girl holding the mic, was not hooked on phonics and was lathering the microphone in her spit mumbling soft noises. The drummer was a skinny, uncoordinated boy, who appeared to be afraid of the drumsticks because he had to dodge them from hitting his face. The guitarist was sitting on the floor with the guitar next to him, flicking the keys in desperation. Sadly, this was not the tournament we had been practicing for. We waited in line for a while and Clint even suggested we get all the kids chanting our names as we play, but Scott was worried about crushing their dreams so we went back to our room. Maybe someday.
Other than that, we went swimming, ate a lot, played some pool, were thankful, water colored, put a puzzle together, and hung out. Thanksgiving might very well be my favorite holiday.
