I have decided that I am not in charge of my life and I'm pretty grateful for that.
We moved back to Rexburg a couple of weeks ago. Scott got a random interview with a construction company here, we were coming up anyway because I was working on some wedding flowers so we figured he might as well check it out. After the interview he was so excited and thought it would be a great fit for him, but was not excited about leaving his job at Big D. But after a week of worry he decided to go for it and things have just kind of worked themselves out. Our renters called and said they would be moving the weekend before Scott needed to start work and we were able to find a renter to take over our lease in Herriman.
It was a real heartbreaker to leave behind our beloved Herriman. That place was really good to us. I especially miss my awesome neighbors, young women and playgroup buddies.
We've had a couple hiccups along the way, I was supposed to spend the week before we moved at girls camp and I was really looking forward to it. Luckily the ladies in our ward stepped it up and made it so I could stay home and take care of business. I got to spend the last evening with the girls at camp, and I don't know if that was a very good idea because man, I realized how much I love them and am going to miss them.
Another downer in the move was realizing how much work our townhome needed. We thought we could move right in but once we got there we decided to pack some bags and stay (mooch off) my parents for two weeks while we got stuff fixed-up. It is not fun mooching off our parents, I'm still not sure how to repay them but they were so good to us and spent lots of late nights watching Emlin while we worked. We ripped out carpet and linoleum, painted all the walls and trim, shampooed some carpet (it wasn't in the budget to replace it all....maybe someday), replaced carpet, installed laminate flooring, scrubbed and scrubbed and scrubbed and as of yesterday it's looking pretty great. I found some awesome cleaning tips on good ol' pinterest, I'll have to post about that later.
Last Thursday we scrambled to get everything done so we could enjoy the weekend in bear lake. It was a wonderful, much-needed vacation(we also celebrated Emlin's 2nd birthday while we were there, I will post later...hopefully). We got back Monday evening and after 10+ loads of laundry we are somewhat settled in our home, just waiting for internet to arrive.
In the meantime Scott is really enjoying his new job, Emlin is happy to finally have a home and somewhat of a schedule again, and I am trying to adjust to my totally transformed and completely different hometown.
Like I said, I have realized I am simply not in charge of my life, which is a good thing. So that's my excuse for not posting and hopefully once we get Internet I won't be such a slacker...hopefully.

I'm kicking myself that we didn't hang out while you were still in Utah. Oh well, we already to come to to Rexburg and now we'll have some of our ol' friends to visit!
